Main Street Guymon, Inc. is seeking an executive director to manage daily activities of Main Street Guymon Program. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a 3 year old Main Street program. Primary responsibilities include: volunteer management and recruitment, grant writing and public relations, business and government liaison; continuing retention and recruitment of businesses; special events coordination and promotional activities; and overall design programs for the downtown district. The director must be flexible to accommodate a myriad of activities from black tie events to cleaning windows, sidewalks and assorted tasks that arise. Education and/or professional experience in one or more of the following areas is beneficial: economic development, retailing, marketing, design, volunteer management, historic preservation, or small business development. The program director must be entrepreneurial, energetic, imaginative, well organized, politically sensitive, and capable of functioning effectively in an independent environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong computer skills are important. There is great Oklahoma Main Street training at the state level that is required to help the program director understand the program and job duties and responsibilities.
